ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF THE DESIGN OF A 7-STORY BRICK BUILDING WITH FRAME SUPPORTED STORIES IN SEISMIC AREA
´˜^i‰pjF This paper discusses the design of a 7-story brick building with frame supported stories in seismic area. The lateral stiffness and ultimate shear force coefficient of the frame supported stories with no shear wall are much less than those of the upper five stories of the building. The damage of the building is predicted to be near to collapse. When two shear walls are added to the bottom two stories, the building may be medium-damage and near to slight-damage. It is suggested that the frame supported stories must be frame-shear wall system in seismic area.
