ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF VARIABLE GAIN CONTROL OF ACTIVE TMD FOR STRUCTURES SUBJECTED TO STRONG EARTHQUAKES
´˜^i‰pjF For the application of active TMD as a seismic protective system for a structure, it is necessary to take the stroke limitation of the auxiliary mass movement into account. In this study, a control algorithm which compromises the displacement constraint of the auxiliary mass is utilized for the control of an active TMD. The optimal parameters for the active TMD are derived so that the required control force is minimized for a given excitation level. The dynamic response analysis using the optimal parameter derived from the theory demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
