ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF SEISMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF ISOLATED STRUCTURES ON DYNAMIC SOIL-FOUNDATION INTERACTION
´˜^i‰pjF In this paper a method of seismic response analysis of base isolated structures on dynamic soil-foundation interaction is developed. The hysteretic restoring force of the hysteretic damper is modeled with a nonlinear differential equation. The dynamic soil-foundation interaction is considered from the effective input of the earthquake motion and the dynamic stiffness and damping of the soil. The simulation analysis of time history is carried out and the peak responses are compared with the corresponding fixed base system to investigate the effectiveness of base isolation. The effects of dynamic soil-foundation interaction are also investigated. The results of the study help in understanding the behavior of base isolated structures with dynamic interaction between the soil and the caisson foundation.
