タイトル(英): UNDERGROUND LARGE CAVERN WITH SHALLOW OVERBURDEN CONSIDERED EARTHQUAKE PROTECTION AGAINST DISASTERS
抄録(英): Generally, underground caverns are highly resistant to earthquake. In Japan where earthquakes occur frequently, it is very effective to construct the structure considered earthquake protection against disasters such as an underground rock cavern. However, the underground cavern for the public use will be constructed in the ground with shallow overburden for convenience of access to the cavern. Therefore, in construction of underground rock cavern, influence of earthquake must be considered. In this paper, it is shown about the possibility that earthquake resistant can be got well by examining the installation direction of support members even if support structure is not changed. And we describe that underground rock caverns are effective as a desaster prevention institution.
