タイトル(英): EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC STRENGTHENING OF RC COLUMNS WITH POLYESTER FIBER SHEET
抄録(英): A new method of strengthening RC columns using polyester fiber sheets, SRF, was improved and verified in various cases towards practical use in retrofit of existing buildings. The hysteretic behavior of the SRF column was compared with that of the same column without strengthening. Stability against axial load and lateral load resistance were improved remarkably by SRF, because the generation of shear cracks and the progress of axial displacement was prevented effectively by the confinement of the sheet. The behavior was also stable under constant axial load as well as under varying axial load up to very high compression. It is concluded that SRF is very effective, economical and ready for practical use in seismic strengthening.
