タイトル(英): Seismic Strengthening of Existing RC Buildings by Outer-Frame with Seismic Control Device
抄録(英): In the seismic strengthening of existing reinforced concrete buildings, it is important to estimate the capacity along the connection between the additional component and the existing frame. Especially, in case of the strengthening with new outer frames, the research on the required quantity of anchors in the connection to transfer the shear and to resist the eccentric moment is insufficient. Therefore, the experimental study was carried out to investigate the behavior of existing RC frames strengthened by a new outer RC frames with brace type friction dampers. According to the test results, in order to transfer the strength of the new outer frame, it is possible to reduce the quantity of anchors in the connection from that demanded by the code for strengthening in case of retrofitting inside the existing frame.
