ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF DAMAGE CONTROL OF HYSTERETIC STRUCTURES BY USING INSTANTANEOUS OPTIMAL CONTROL ALGORITHM WITH A SPECIAL WEIGHING MATRIX
´˜^i‰pjF A control strategy based on the instantaneous optimal control algorithm with a special weighing matrix is proposed. The control force obtained from the proposed control strategy added direct proportional classic damping to the controlled structure. The above control strategy is employed to determine for both active control force and semi-active control force reducing responses of linear and hysteretic structures subjected to earthquakes. Numerical studies indicated that the proposed control strategy could establish further reduction on the responses and damages of the structure to compare with the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and the instantaneous optimal control algorithm with conventional weighing matrix even by using the same value of control force.
