Lateral loading tests were conducted to investigate the performance of model piles in liquefied soil using the large-scale laminar shear box. This paper presents the outline of the lateral loading tests by the pile head loading and the ground deformation loading and the coefficient of subgrade reaction was evaluated. The following were concluded. The soil density and the pile displacement affected the coefficient of subgrade reaction in liquefied soil. The initial coefficient of subgrade reaction obtained from the ground deformation loading were a little smaller than that obtained from the pile head loading.
