タイトル(英): A RESPONSE ANALYTIC METHOD OF CONCRETE DAMS STRUCK BY STRONG EARTHQUAKES
抄録(英): A 3-D nonlinear analytic method has been developed in this study for the aseismatic analysis of concrete dams. The principle of the method and a case study on an existing arch dam are mentioned in the paper. The method is based on the coupled theory of dam - contraction joints - reservoir - foundation system. Characteristically, it contains the strictly simulating functions of the nonlinear properties of contraction joints and the interaction between structure and reservoir water as well as the energy dissipation through the boundaries of foundation and reservoir. With this method, the response analysis of the dam when struck by an assumed strong earthquake motion of the maximum amplitude 500 gal at dam base has been done, and based on the analysis results aseismatic evaluation of the dam has been carried out.
