タイトル(英): SHAKING TABLE TESTS ON SEISMIC EARTH PRESSURE EXERTED ON RETAINING WALL MODEL CONSIDERING RESPONSE ACCELERATION OF THE BACKFILL
抄録(英): In this study, the seismic earth pressure predicted by the Mononobe-Okabe formula is compared with the observation in shaking table tests. It is revealed that the resultant force of seismic earth pressure obtained by shaking table tests was lower than that of the Mononobe-Okabe formula. This is because the horizontal and vertical response accelerations of the sliding block which were measured by many accelerometers located in the backfill were different from the acceleration of the shaking table in terms of their amplitude and phase. By correcting for these effects, the experimental resultant force became close to the theoretical one after the formation of failure plane in the backfill which was detected by using an image processing system. It is also revealed that the phase property of seismic earth pressure changed by the formation of failure plane.
