タイトル(英): LIQUEFACTION STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF SAND DEPOSITS OVERCONSOLIDATED BY SURCHARGING AND DEWATERING METHOD
抄録(英): There is a countermeasure against liquefaction by applying stress and strain histories of overconsolidation to sandy soil deposits. Surcharging and dewatering methods can be used for the purpose. In this study, several series of cyclic torsional shear tests were performed on Toyoura clean sand and a reconstituted sandy soil picked up from a reclaimed land under the test conditions simulating the two countermeasures, in order to investigate effects of overconsolidation on the liquefaction strength characteristics. Consequently, the increment in the liquefaction strength due to overconsolidation was supposed to be larger in the deposits subjected to the surcharging method than in those done to the dewatering method.
