This paper describes strong motions estimation of east area in Tokyo during the newly estimated Tokai earthquake and analyses the response of a high-rise building. For estimation of strong motion, empirical Green’s function method was applied and synthesized the strong motions. A high-rise building of 40 floors was assumed and applied a strong motion. Response acceleration of the building is 99 Gal and displacement is 37cm, also steel frame remained in linear range.
