ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF GROUND VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS, WAVE GENERATION, PROPAGATION AND AMPLIFICATION DURING THE 1999 KOCAELI EARTHQUAKE
´˜^i‰pjF A three-step ground response analysis has been performed for the 1999 Kocaeli Earthquake. In the first step of the analysis, ground motion and structural response parameters have been investigated to characterize the observed ground motions. Wavelet analysis has been performed to detect the frequency variability of the ground motions in time scale. In the second step, 3-dimensional seismic wave simulation due to the fault rupturing during the earthquake has been performed, and finally in the third step, local site effects on ground surface response have been examined by 2-dimensional FE-BE site response analysis by taking into account in-plane and out-plane responses.
