A simulation procedure is presented for strong ground motion during the Hyogoken nambu Earthquake of Jan.17,1995. The characteristics of strong ground motion obtained at 4 stations near the fault of the earthquake are examined. The mean spectral characteristic of these records is incorporated into the strong motion prediction model that can simulate the non-stationary ground motion time history by the superposition of the evolutionary power spectra.
