Authors carried out a questionnaire survey on seismic intensity by Ohta’s method in Ehime Prefecture during the 2001 Geiyo earthquake. Local seismic intensities in Matsuyama Plain obtained by the survey is demonstrated in distribution map and compared with the local damage ratio of house. Moreover, their relationship is discussed. Finally, the relationship between the local damage ratio and the predominant period of ground obtained by microtremor measurement is shown. As a result, we can show a good agreement between the locations of regions of high seismic intensity and high damage ratio of house in the end of the plain adjacent to hills with shorter predominant periods.
