ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF STUDY ON MICROZONATION IN THE BOGOTA METROPOLITAN AREA PART II. ESTIMATION OF BUILDING DAMAGES AND HUMAN LOSSES
ด˜^i‰pjF Following to the study of seismic activity of the Bogota metropolitan area in the republic of Colombia, damage estimation of buildings and human losses conducted as one of the other major tasks for the study of microzonation is presented. Estimation of building damages is usually carried out by taking the following process; categorization of the whole building, decision of damage function of categorized buildings, computation of damages referring to the seismic activity. In the study for Bogota, the damages statistics due to the 1999 Quindio earthquake in Colombia are processed as valuable databases into the functions for building damages as well as human losses. Since, besides the administrative zoning, the city of Bogota is divided into 6 types Estrato classified by the residentsf income, building conditions and so on, these processes are presented in detail.
