ƒ^ƒCƒgƒ‹i‰pjF ESTIMATION OF HUMAN DAMAGE DUE TO RAILWAY ACCIDENTS DEU TO EARTHQUAKE
´˜^i‰pjF The purpose of this paper is to propose the method which includes the estimation of the number of loss of human lives and the injured due to railway accidents generated by earthquake. The Great Hanshin-Awagi earthquake disaster gave us much information about the railway damage due to strong ground motion. Moreover, we analyzed the rraffic accident data which were introduced in some Japanese newspapers in 1965 to 1995. If we can predict the railway accidents suchi as derailment and overturn due to strong ground motion, the human damage will be estimated with the relationship between the number of passengers and ratio of human damage. The method proposed here can predict the number of human damage due to Uemachi-danso earthquake with the magnitude of 7.2 in Osaka area.
