抄録（英）：
In-situ test for predicting ahead of the tunnel face was carried out using TSP (Tunnel Seismic Prediction) system; the products of the Amberg Measuring Technique Ltd in Switzerland. The TSP system has been succesfully utilized for predicting ahead of the tunnel face in Europe. We have been verifing the applicability of the system to the complicated geological situations in Japan. The predicted condition were very much in agreement with the rock mass actually exposed by the excavation. As a result, in-situ test has revaled that TSP system was very useful for Japanese tunnels.
