道路交通システムなどのように,システム上のどの地点も,供給,需要地点のいずれにもなりうるようなシステムに対し,最も基本的なモデルを作成し,物理的な被害と機能的な支障との関係を解析的に検討した.扱った基本的なシステムは,直線・円形・人形システムであり,破壊の箇所数,需給点ペア間の距離の関数として連結確率の解析解を,また,連結している需給点ペア間の距離の期待値を算定した.

The relationship between the degree of physical damage to the lifeline system and the functional service ratio immediately following an earthquake is theoretically investigated.Three simple system models,open and closed curve,and Y-shaped,are considered.Theoretical results concerning connectivity and the expected values of the distances between surviving pairs,one supply and one demand point per pair,are presented as a function of the total number of failures.
