Wind tunnel test of a bridge is usually carried out in a wind normal to the bridge axis. This is because the static and dynamic wind effects on a bridge deck take place the maximum values when a wind is normal to a bridge deck. However, bridge motion is still observed for a yawed wind. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of a yawed wind on vortex-induced oscillation of a bridge. A wind tunnel test using bridge girder models was carried out. Flow visualization was also carried out to investigate the flow pattern on a condition of a yawed wind. The test results indicated that the vortex-induced oscillation of the first bending mode still appeared in a high yawed angle. And, some different features were found between the response in a low yawed wind and in a high yawed wind. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF bridge girder model, yawed wind, vortex-induced oscillation ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
