A mega-sub control system which takes advantage of the mega-structure configuration is introduced. In this system, sub-structures contained in the mega-structure serve as energy absorbers so that no additional mass is required as seen in the conventional mass damper systems. Optimum values for the structural parameters such as frequency ratio and damping ratio are determined for wind and seismic loads. Dynamic characteristics of the current control system including the frequency response and the energy flow are investigated. The feasibility and effectiveness of this control system in protecting structures and improving human comfort are demonstrated through numerical simulation. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
