A new mechanical load-transmission device is developed which enables movable bearing supports of a bridge to transmit lateral loads to piers when subjected to earthquake loadings while allowing unrestrained movement of deck during ambient temperature changes. The device is robust in construction and the silicone putty compound used is inert and stable which would make the device perform satisfactorily under adverse conditions while requiring minimum maintenance. Test results of the device under cyclic loadings are presented. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
