Microtremor observations were conducted in the eastern part of Metro Manila in order to generate microzonation maps that will depict the seismic response characteristics of different sites with varying subsurface conditions. The eastern Metro Manila area is underlain by lithologies with varying thicknesses of soft deltaic deposits, in some parts by indurated and welded tuff and in the hinterlands by hard competent rocks.
