An attempt was made to develop a new algorithm by which a compact and time-serial presentation in terms of a single-peak envelop function is available for earthquake strong motions with high complexity both in amplitudes and periods. The envelop function used was the one proportional to the log-normal probability density function. This was selected based on a curve-fitting of observed records to a few candidate probability distribution functions of which derivative gives a single-peak and smooth function. We are in belief that thus obtained information on earthquake strong motions is certain to give a clue to the innovation of civil protection during shaking. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
