A method for estimating the areas and degree of damage, based on simultaneous multipoint observations for a seismic network, is presented to develop an emergency control system. For effective implementation, the hypocenter of the earthquake and its magnitude is calculated as accurately as possible by the earthquake monitoring system. The information is taken into consideration to evaluate roughly damage to customer's houses and buried pipelines with the aid of empirical relationships. These estimates then are used to optimize the gas supply by the control of valves and other parts of the gas supply system after the earthquake. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
