Quick recovery of lifeline functione after big earthquakes is so important to avoid secondary disaster. Emergency shut-down of the lifeline system is a possible way for that purpose. The present paper proposes a computer-aided decision making system for a proper emergency shut-down. AHP method has been employed to consider relative evaluation of various factors associated with the decision making. The proposed method will be useful specially for an emergency shut-down of gas supply systems which would cause severe effects due to the shut-down.
