抄録（英）：
Damage ratio of buried pipes related with peak horizontal acceleration has been proposed and widely used in damage estimations of lifeline systems. However,it has been recognized that peak velocity or Seismic Intensity (SI) value is more proper parameter to explain the pipes damages rather than acceleration.In this paper,damage ratio of buried pipes is investigated in terms of peak acceleration and SI value, based on the database obtained from the five past earthquake disasters in Japan.Then a relationship between damage ratio of buried pipe and SI value is presented as a new parameter for damage estimation for lifelines.
