Improvement of seismic resistance of long span PC cable-stayed bridges with hysteresis damper supports is investigated using time history response analysis. Reductions in the displacement of the deck and the bending moments in the towers and piers are discussed from the point of view of the stay cable arrangement and the span length. The results show that a semi-harp shape configuration of stay cables is more effective than a harp shape configuration. Hysteresis dampers increase the seismic resistance of PC cable-stayed bridges regardess of the span length.
