RESPONSE REDUCTION EFFECTS OF BASE ISOLATED BUILDINGS ON THE BASIS OF EARTHQUAKE RECORDS
|
´˜^i‰pjF
The purpose of this paper is to make clear acceleration response reduction effects of base isolated buildings by analyzing earthquake records. The maximum acceleration ratios of top floor to base floor were calculated from the earthquake records observed in the twenty base-isolated buildings in Japan. The ratios were investigated in relation to the natural frequencies and damping factors of the buildings which were estimated by system identification method. The response reducion effects of a base-isolated building in nonliner state were also discussed.
