In order to evaluate the applicability of the seismic-isolation concept, the appropriate characteristics should be selected through a relatively simple procedure. It is considered to be difficult obtaining the reduction of inertia force by applying seismic-isolation concept for bridges on the soft ground. However, many designers are interested in applying of this concept for soft ground. In this paper, the authors propose a determination method for selecting optimal characteristic values by using parametric charts. The usefulness of this method and the applicability of the seismic isolation concept for the soft ground are estimated from a trial design. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
