A method of stochastic estimates is presented for the structural response and damage states of hysteretic multi-degree-of-freedom structures based on noisy, partial observations of seismic structural responses. The system and observation equations are formulated in the form of the It¡ stochastic differential equations by making use of differential representations of hysteretic constitutive laws and damage measures of hysteretic structural systems. By introducing appropriate conditional probability density functions given observations, the time-dependent conditional statistics and probability density functions concerning the seismic structural damages as well as responses are determined. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
