EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE OF R/C FRAMES CONSIDERING COLUMN BL-AXIAL FLEXURAL INTERACTION
|
´˜^i‰pjF
Response of 5- and l0-story R/C space frame structures subjected to simulta -neous two horizontal earthquake motions was analyzed. In the analysis, column bi-axial flexural interaction was considered, and column flexural strength was selected as a main parameter. The major findings from the study are : ¡ as the column strength increases, column ductility decreases and the structure tends to produce the total yield mechanism, and ¡ the column overstrength ratios requited to achieve the total yield mechanism for the 5-story structure are larger than the values prescribed in the Design Guidelines for R/C Buildings, while those for the l0-story structure are smaller.
