Presented are the seismic response characteristics of C-shaped reinforced concrete bridge piers which are subjected to eccentric loading by the dead weight of superstructure. Shaking table test and dynamic loading tests of model piers were made to investigate the seismic response, strength and ductility characteristics. It is found that the displacement response of the piers is developed only in one direction, in which the eccentric loading is applied, resulting in large residual displacement. It is also found that the ductility of the piers significantly decreases as the eccentric loading increases. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
