Application of Logit Model to predict liquefaction in a wide area is presented. This model is formulated with the data in Niigata during Niigata earthquake(1964, M=7.5). The subject area of analysis is divided into mesh (600m x 700m), and six characteristic factors of ground are collected in these mesh. They are depth of groundwater level, topograpy, thickness of saturated sand layer and a kind of groundwater(confined or unconfined ground water). As a result, significant ground factors that affect the occurrence of liquefaction are specified. Comparing ground factors of Logit Model with one of Quantification method type 2, we could find both methods had same factors and the sensitivity. And it is shown that a probability of liquefaction can be calculated by this model.
