Several researches on structures made up of coarse particles indicate that the dynamic failure process of these structures have a dependence on frequency. These results are inexplicable according to the existing theory governed by Coulomb's hypothesis. To take into account the characteristics observed, a simple conceptual model of surface slide is presented, and by changing one specific parameter in the model, two different kinds of failure pattern observed in experiments could be explained. Moreover the relation between the behaviour of the present model and some indexes describing seismic intensity is discussed. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
