LIQUEFACTION REMEDIATION BY TIMELY DEWATERING
|
´˜^i‰pjF
This paper proposes a new method (so-called "ALPS") for liquefaction remediation by dewatering immediately before or after the arrival of an earthquake motion. ALPS consists of a linkage between a groundwater pumping system and a liquefaction early warning system. In this study, a procedure of the liquefaction early warning is developed and a case study for Hakodate city during the Hokkaido-Nansei-Oki Earthquake of 1993 is presented. Also discussed is the remediation effect against liquefaction by using the forced ("active") drainage on the basis of the results of cyclic drained triaxial tests and seepage flow analyses combined with pore water pressure buildup.
