抄録(英):
A series of tests for verifying improvement by Super Lime Piles is conducted in a man-made fill placed in a large-scale buried bin. The results of field and laboratory tests indicate that: (1) dynamic cone penetration resistance increased from 4 to 10-12 at a depth of 3m after improvement by Super Lime Piles; (2) stiffness of ground surface obtained by plate loading tests increased twice as much; (3) the effective earth pressure coefficient grew from 0.7 to 2.4; (4) resistance to liquefaction based on torsional shear tests increased by approximately 100%.
