Uplift of underground structure during earthquakes due to liquefaction is a serious problem in recent years. The potential for uplift of a underground structure system, it is necessary to estimate values for excess pore water pressure ratio ru during liquefaction. So far there have been several equations proposed for the relation between ru and FL We need however to have more accurate ways of estimating ru values in order to predict the extent of uplift. Obtaining the relation between Cumulative damage D and ru values during irregular ground motion. This paper discusses the relations of excess pore water pressure ratio ru to liquefaction resistance factor FL and to cumulative damage D based on the results of cyclic triaxial tests on undisturbed samples.
