A simplified method is proposed for synthesizing the amplitude fourier spectrum of large earthquake using source spectrum of small earthquake. The fault plane of large earthquake is divided into small elements which correspond to the small earthquake. The relation between large earthquake and small earthquake follows to the scaling law. Using this method, the amplitude fourier spectrum on base rock is calculated if the dissipation of the base rock is known. The investigation of fourier spectrum in different position to the fault and the comparison between record of Mexico earthquake(1985) and synthesis spectrum shows that (1)the long period wave is affected easily by the radiation pattern than short period waves.
