EFFECT OF INPUT GROUND MOTION LONG-PERIOD COMPONENTS ON SEISMIC MARGIN INDEX OF DIFFERENT BUILDING MODELS
|
´˜^i‰pjF
Simulated ground motions with Kanai-Tajimi Power Spectrum have been used in estimation of seismic margin index p of structural models. But it is pointed out that components in a long period range of this spectrum are relatively greater than those of existing ground motions. Two kinds of simulated motions are suggested by considering the ratio between maximum acceleration and maximum velocity of existing ground motions' time histories. From comparisons of ¡ values estimated with these simulated motions, it can be concluded that the velocity response spectrum has significant influence on ¡, particularly in a long-period range.
