Using a mass slider model consisting of a frictional interface following the rate- and state- dependent friction law, a leaf spring, and dashpot following the flow law, we simulate an occurrence of crustal earthquakes on a creeping fault. The shallowest 2km part of the fault is set to creep and deeper part is made to slip unstably. The result shows that earthquakes occur periodically and that rupture starts at the shallow part of the fault.
