The liquefaction array observation of ground accelerations and pore water pressures has been carried out since 1990 at Tomakomai site in Hokkaido. Serious damage due to ground failure and liquefaction occurred in many place throughout the eastern Hokkaido during Kushiro-Oki Earthquake of January 15, 1993. On this site, measurement are succeeded with valuable records. Excess pore water pressure in sandy deposit built up to nearly equal to the effective overburden pressure. Effectiveness of ground improvement and influence of excess pore water pressure on the amplification of ground motion are discussed by the observed records. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
