We propose a new method to estimate time delay due to sedimentary layers using earthquake travel times. The method is improved in that errors in hypocenter depth and origin time are canceled, and that travel times of P-waves due to earthquakes are defined as a function of epicentral, hypocentral or generalized distance. The method is applied to the JMA data at Kanto, Shizuoka and Sendai districts, and it becomes clear that delay times of sedimentary layers can be easily estimated by the method although the accuracy of standard curve in each event has to be checked. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
