To investigate the site effects, we compared accelerograms obtained on the sedimentary site with those on the rock site. We calculated the spectral ratios of S-waves on the sedimentary site to those on rock site. The results show a strong amplification of seismic waves with a period of about 3 sec on the sedimentary site. The observation of long-period microtremors was made on both seismic stations to evaluate applicability to the microtremors in estimating the seismic response. The definite strong amplification of the microtremors could not be observed in this investigation.
