In this paper, the spatial variation of seismic ground motion is evaluated based on the data obtained at Aobayama in Sendai on which faculty of engineering of Tohoku University is located. As a result of calculating coherence function for seven earthquakes, it is found that each earthquake has a different type of coherence function and that seismic motions which have a separation over 4oom are not correlated in high frequency over 3Hz. Moreover stochastic relation between coherence function of ground motion and coefficient of variation of transfer function of surface soil is examined assuming that the spatial variation gives a fluctuation to amplification of surface soil. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
