We propose a very simple method to calculate the secondary Love wave generated at the edge of two-dimensional (2-D) sediment-filled valleys. After the parametric study focusing on the effect of source location and of single couple radiation pattern, we consider the seismic response due to horizontally incident plane SH wave. Considering the Love wave propagation in the layered media, Haskell matrix technique is used for such geological structure. The physical meaning and applicability of our approach is discussed in comparison with the formulation by Hisada. Some demonstrations have been done to check the validity of our method. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
