The present paper aims to get the regional distribution of maximum acceleration on the ground for the Funka- wan area in Hokkaido, which includes eleven cities and towns facing the Gulf of Funka-wan. The fault model of 1968 Tokachi-offshore earthquake was used as a supposed future coming earthquake and the upper and lower parts of the underground structure were taken into considerations. The regional distributions of maximum acceleration were consistent with the intensity distributions due to 1968 Tokachi offshore earthquake. It seems that the patterns of the regional distribution of maximum acceleration are also in accord with the intensity distribution due to 1993 Hokkaido-southwest offshore earthquake. From the above facts, we can say that the vibration characteristics of ground depend on the upper parts of the ground structure. The preset result is expected to be useful for taking countermeasures against earthquake disasters due to coming earthquakes. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
