抄録（英）：
The seismic performance of traditional wooden buildings was surveyed quantitatively. A case study was made on the damage in KAMAKURA by 1923 Kanto Earthquake. Through a survey the following conclusions as to what types of buildings were damaged were found; 1)there was found a certain correlation between the damage ratio of wooden houses and the damage ratio of shrines and temples, 2)the thicker the alluviual soil was, the heavier the damage was brought as in case of wooden houses, 3)for roof materials, the heavier materials like thatched roof or tiled roof ' caused heavy damage, 4)for periods when the building was constructed, not much difference was found, 5)the high wall ratio got less damage.
