抄録（英）：
Severe indoor damage occured by 1993 Kusiro-Oki earthquake as compared with the level of structural damage. Living space was occupied by overturned furnitures and Scattered materials in many parts of Kushiro district. It was reported that such indoor damage affected secondary damage and human life in the living space. In this paper, characteristic of occurrence of indoor damage and secondary damage was made clear based on the results of questionnaire to members of Architects and Structural Engineers Association. The relation between indoor damage and distress for human life was also considered to find out the estimation method.
