A formulation is presented for the seismic response analysis of pile foundations and for the calculation of the internal forces in the piles. The interacting forces between the soil and the piles are obtained by a boundary integral type formulation and the resulting internal forces are evaluated by the solution of the steady-state vibration of beams. Results of a sensitivity analysis are presented to demonstrate the influence of piles' stiffness on the internal forces of piles induced by seismic shear waves.
